What Color Is Longing?
15/06 2026Writer and musician Gunnar Randversson and guitarist Þórólfur Stefánsson will present a program of poetry reading and guitar music at Gljúfrasteinn on Sunday, June 21 at 4:00 PM.
Gunnar will read poems from his book What Color Is Longing? Þórólfur will perform music, including works by Chopin, Satie, J.S. Bach, and Gunnar Randversson.
Þórólfur Stefánsson is a guitarist based in Sweden. He pursued advanced studies with Professor Rolf LaFleur at the Music Academy in Stockholm and graduated from the Stockholms Musikpedagogiska Institut in 1994. Þórólfur has performed widely across the Nordic countries, both as a soloist and with ensembles. Icelandic composers have written works for him to premiere, and Gitarissimo Publications in Stockholm has published Icelandic folk songs in his arrangements and transcriptions.
Gunnar Randversson is a writer and musician based in Reykjavík. He graduated from the Reykjavík College of Music in 1985. Gunnar has worked for decades as a piano and guitar teacher, in addition to composing music. He has released two CDs featuring his own music as well as others. He is also the author of six poetry collections and one short story collection. His latest book, What Color Is Longing? explores longing and grief following the loss of a grandchild.
Everyone is warmly welcome. The concert begins at 4:00 PM, and admission is 3,900 ISK. Tickets are sold at the Gljúfrasteinn reception.
